About SIRA
The SIRA stands for Support, Inspire, Rise, and Act. In Arabic, SIRA also means journey or path — a meaning that deeply reflects the heart of the initiative and the story behind its creation.
The SIRA Initiative was born from lived experience and the belief that no one rises alone. Founded by someone who understands the struggles of immigrant families, refugees, and underserved communities firsthand, SIRA exists to create spaces of dignity, healing, and opportunity. Every program we offer reflects our commitment to trauma-aware care, community empowerment, and the unwavering belief that support should be a right, not a privilege.
To support immigrant families, refugees, at-risk youth, incarcerated individuals, and underserved communities by offering mentorship, access to essentials, community healing spaces, and practical systems support. This is rooted in my journey as a refugee and as someone who was seen as a light by those who believed in me. I now reflect that light outward.
